Symbiant Strands

"As unique as a fingerprint."

It's that chilly time of year again, and if you are in the market for winter snuggly gorgeous goods made with love, look no further than Symbiant Strands.
Cat dove head-first into the "bubble cap", and matching fingerless gloves, with her interview with Anne Heche.  And, couldn't quite take them off, as you can see in her multiple show wearings. One, with G. Love, where she also dons the amazing button up neck warmer.

This one-woman business realizes the necessity for intricate romantic beauty, and pours heartfelt details and soothing color palettes into each completely unique piece.  Because each piece is so unique, her logo is a fingerprint; and aptly so, as the motto states.
She even sells yarns at discounted prices, and with the season just starting off, you can be sure to get all the best merchandise,if you shop now.  Seriously, last year, she sold out of everything before I could even post this!

These adorable tiny florets can be pinned onto any hat you choose, or scarf, or glove, or your coat, whatever you want to add a bit of beauty to, and there is a perfect match for any of the items you wish to top off your winter wishes list.

NY Times Online

Simone S. Oliver - Senior Fashion Producer
Dress by Kate Spade,  belt from the GAP, and shoes by Elizabeth and James.

Last night I had the honor and privilege of not only meeting, but working with none other than Simone S. Oliver, http://www.simonesoliver.com/index.html, Senior Fashion Producer for NYTimes.com, http://www.nytimes.com/pages/fashion/index.html.  Who am I?  Seriously.

As if that weren't enough, in and of itself, another partner for the project, was the world-famous Beagy Zielinski, http://www.beagystyle.com/, editorial stylist who has worked with magazines like Greek and Spanish Elle, Chinese Harper's Bazaar, and advertorials for Stella McCartney, Christian Dior, and Tom Ford to her credit, literally an understatement that this is just to name a few.
Beagy Zealinski - Fashion Stylist
Earrings by Alexis Bittar, dress by Dolce & Gabbana, pony fur bolero by Paula Cheng, and shoes by Givenchy.

Bubbling over with joy and humility, I think I may have eeked-out maybe one coherent sentence during the entire night... maybe.  But, the thrill of the experience is still just reeling over and over in my mind, and bringing a smile to my face.
Beth Parasmo, Fashion Stylist/Blogger

I just wanted to give you all a snapshot of my look for the night, give a shout-out to Jazz Boutique for lending me the look I wore (see previous post for JAZZ shop photos and location- http://bethisinthecity.blogspot.com/2011/01/jazz.html), allowing me to dress to impress, and to let you know to stay tuned for upcoming links to this amazing collaboration and future work by both Simone and Beagy.
Huge thanks to Simone for inviting me to take part in such an exciting endeavor, and to Beagy for  being an amazing role model and inspiration for others in the industry.

You are both amazing proof that your wildest dreams, even if you never even knew they existed, are real, and possible.

Franny and Roey

This tiny little slice of antiquity speaks to the true vintage lover.  If you have that need for the amazingly stunning cuts and simply perfect fabrications of an era long gone; look no further.  Ilyane takes vintage, and fixes them.  She doesn't add to them, or make them trendy; they exist, as they are, for a reason, and she brings that purpose to it's true original beauty.  She knows construction, and will alter the garment to fit you on the premises.  Welcome to a true piece of classic, with a cute humility that is endearing, and hard to resist.  Meet Franny & Roey.
Cat chose this long Bordeaux colored vintage long leather coat for her Stoops with Russell Simmons, and the magician duo Penn and Teller!
Check out the entire show @

Walking into this shop, one gets the feeling of being home.  Designed to look like a bedroom/closet, with even a literal bed in the center, the chest of drawers even opens to reveal scarves, and closets are filled with dresses, blazers, and pants - all vintage, and as perfect as the decor.

Especially made jewelry by Khara Ledonne, with hand-painted scenes of things like the Brooklyn water tower, ocean scenes, whales, and farm scenes, all live here, in this nest of a 60's club-house.

Cat loved the artist's touch, and the lived-in feel of the garments.

Stop by yourself, a little off the beaten path, but well worth the walk.
Thanks, Ilayne, for letting us in on this wonderful secret.
